Intro to Acting

Learning the art of acting is not just about preparing to be up on stage or in front of a camera. It’s also about improving your self-awareness, your confidence, how you present yourself in the world, learning to recognize the emotions of people around you, and so much more!

The course is divided into three classes: Facial Expressions, Body Language, and Using Your Voice. You can view all three classes below.

Class 1: Facial Expressions

In this class, we’ll look at the different aspects of our expressions which are associated with different emotions. By learning these, we can better understand what’s going on with the people around us, and we can also notice the expressions we use – and even be able to affect our own emotions in positive ways!

Class 2: Body Language

Here we’re going to take a closer look at how our emotions and personality are expressed by the way we hold ourselves, and how we can use posture and body language in life to show interest, self-confidence and make a positive impression.

Class 3: Using Your Voice

Now it’s time to put it all together! We’re going to look at the building blocks of voice: diction – learning how to enunciate words precisely, and projection – putting more volume and power into our voice. Then we’ll talk about the use of intonation and tempo in our voice to express various emotions. All these – our face, our body language, and our voice – are powerful tools not only in the art of acting but also in putting our best selves forward in life!
